Wildlife and Surrounds

Possum's Haven is situated in the middle of a 2.2 hectare un-cleared block. Jarrah and Blackbutt trees and undergrowth are cleared to a distance of 20 metres from the house allowing unparalleled vistas of the forest from all points of the house.

The balcony from the upstairs bedroom provides tree top canopy views.

The front verandah faces south and provides protection from the glare of a summer sunset whilst providing protection and warmth during those cool, off summer evenings.

Bandicoots, red tailed black cockatoos and all the various forest animals and birds inhabit Possum's Haven. Quiet watching times can reward the patient observer with views of all local furred and feathered forest inhabitants.

A comfortable 400 metres walk to the Wilson Inlet will reward with unobstructed views of sea and estuarine birds.

A 4 kilometre walk along an old disused railway path will bring to the delights of Denmark with its cafes, restaurants and arty village atmosphere.

Inhabited by Aboriginals for 40,000 years and first seen by white man in 1829, Denmark is "The Jewel In The crown Of The South Coast". With activities as adverse as seasonal whale watching and all year round bush walking, the local wineries, arts and crafts outlets, swimming, surfing and fishing beaches can accommodate all social pursuits.
